Smoke Rises Over Ukraine After Another Wave Of Russian Strikes
Industrial and military facilities are on fire throughout Ukraine as a result of another wave of Russian precision missile strikes. At night, air alert sounded in all regions of the country. Local sources reported Russian strikes in Dnipro, Zaporizhia, as well as Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions. Local residents are publishing photos of fires across the country.
Russian missiles flew to Western Ukraine. Local authorities reported that the city of Lviv was targeted by 7 missiles, but only one was allegedly shot down. The local authorities confirmed the strike on an industrial facility. Most likely, the strikes targeted the storage of ammunition supplied to Kiev by NATO countries. The mayor of Lviv claimed that shrapnel hit residential buildings, where a fire broke out.
More missile strikes were confirmed in the city of Lutsk in the Volyn region. Local authorities acknowledged that the missile strike hit an industrial facility. The plant used for the repair of western equipment was reportedly destroyed.
The head of the Cherkasy regional military administration said that Russian forces had hit one of the enterprises in the city of Smela, where an important railway junction is located. Water and heat supply networks were also damaged in the region.
A large fire was also recorded at an industrial enterprise in the city of Dnipro. The videos shared by the locals also confirmed more strikes in Zaporizhia.
According to local reports, Russian missiles again struck targets in Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnitsky region. There is a strategically important airfield, where Su-24 armed with Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles are deployed. This military airfield was already hit by Russian missiles last week. On the evening of August 14, Russian strikes hit targets in Kramatorsk. According to local authorities, Russian forces used missiles of the S-300 air defense systems, hitting the warehouses where the products were allegedly stored. A fire broke out on an area of 2400 meters. The dead and wounded are also reported. However, it turned out that the targets of the strikes in the city located near the frontlines were the AFU military facilities. Strikes were reported near the workshops of the Energomashspetsstal plant and the Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant. A few weeks ago, Ukrainian troops began accumulating ammunition and military equipment there.
