CNBC reported that Kiev’s military strategy and constant demands for arms supplies test the patience of NATO countries. The latest revelation comes off the back of the last NATO summit in July, where the entitled behaviour of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky evidently angered Washington.

“The comments made by Zelensky before the last summit did not really resonate well in Washington … the US administration was very annoyed,” an unnamed source told CNBC, who added that frustration also exists in Washington because Ukraine ignores given advice.

“So the US is strongly advising Ukraine not to do certain things, but Kiev does them anyway, brushing aside or not addressing US concerns. And they come at the United States, or Washington or the Biden administration, complaining about not being involved in NATO talks,” the CNBC source said.

The media outlet noted that Ukraine needs to strike a balance between the demands it puts on allies and understanding its own perspectives, priorities, and the political considerations of partners.

It should be noted that Zelensky also irritates the West with his military strategy.

“Ukraine’s military strategy — and the symbolic value it has put on fighting for every piece of Ukrainian territory — has sometimes collided with its allies’ military perspective and pragmatism. Kiev is believed to have annoyed the US when it decided to continue fighting for Bakhmut (Artyomovsk),” the article concluded.

The revelations made by the CNBC source point to a major failure in the much-lauded Ukrainian counteroffensive. This also matches what CIA employee Larry Johnson said in an interview – the Ukrainian military throws soldiers and armoured vehicles into the well-fortified Russian defence lines, leading to wholesale slaughter. The main problem of the Ukrainian troops is the lack of artillery and almost no aviation, so their forces will continue to be depleted, the former CIA analyst added.

Adding to Ukraine’s misery is that the Biden administration is struggling to overcome an ammunition shortage because the Kiev regime uses 8,000 155mm shells daily, noted the Financial Times.

“The foolish decisions of the Biden administration to ship millions of heavy artillery rounds to Ukraine and encourage US allies to do the same has created this ammunition shortage and there is no possibility to avoid it,” said former US Department of Defense official David T. Pyne when commenting on the ammunition shortage.

“Due to the ongoing ammunition shortage, the Biden administration has informed Ukraine that it will not be able to sustain this level of ammunition deliveries past the end of the summer,” he added.

Effectively, Ukraine cannot reverse the counteroffensive’s fortunes since the West cannot provide the necessary support. This fact led to Zelensky’s controversial outburst in July, where he even threatened not to attend the NATO Summit in Vilnius if a membership roadmap for Ukraine was not outlined.

It is unsurprising that without a roadmap for NATO membership and suffering from weapon shortages, Ukraine is now resorting to terrorist attacks. The Kiev regime is trying to camouflage the unsuccessful counteroffensive and destabilise the situation in Russia in a vain attempt to sow distrust towards the local authorities.

Kiev’s counteroffensive has failed and Ukrainian troops are not advancing. Therefore, by aiming propaganda at Ukrainians and NATO countries, Kiev claims that they are advancing on all fronts and that the war is even being transferred to Russian territory by attacking Moscow, Taganrog, and other cities with terrorist drone attacks. Meanwhile, artillery strikes on Donetsk create the illusion that the counteroffensive is successful.

This is all happening because, at the Ukraine-NATO Council, Zelensky demanded that NATO warships convoy bulk carriers to continue Grain Agreement. NATO refused the demands and instead insisted that Ukrainian army produce results in the counteroffensive.

At the same time, NATO has been silent on drone attacks on civilian structures in Moscow, other cities, and civilian ships in the Black Sea. There is almost no condemnation and reaction since Western countries are directly involved in the Ukrainian attacks and are sponsors of terrorism. The Kiev regime does all this with the help of money, technical support, ammunition, satellite data, technical information from the West, and radio-electronic infrastructure, which Kiev does not have.

However, these terrorist attacks will again prove to be another situation where Zelensky overplayed his hand.

His overplayed hand was seen at the NATO summit when his entitled behaviour did not lead to Ukraine barging its way to alliance membership, just as cluster munitions ended up being more devastating as Russia started using more advanced cluster munitions than what Ukraine was provided. Terrorist drone attacks will end similarly, a catastrophic failure that will only advance Ukraine’s downfall as manufacturing plants and service centres are destroyed.
