Sergey Kotov

On the night of July 25, the Ukrainian military attempted to attack Russian patrol ship in the Black Sea. The Russian Ministry of Defence declared that two unmanned boats targeted the ship Sergey Kotov when it was patrolling shipping in the southwestern part of the Black Sea.

The incident took place 370 kilometers southwest of Sevastopol. Both boats were destroyed by the fire of the Russian ship at a distance of 1000 and 800 meters. The attack failed and the ship was not damaged. Sergey Kotov continues to perform the assigned tasks after the attack, the Russian Military of Defence reported.

The new patrol ship Sergey Kotov is the fourth ship of Project 22160 built in Kerch, Crimean Republic. On January 29, 2021, the ship was launched at the Kerch Shipbuilding Plant during a solemn ceremony. Sergey Kotov entered the Black Sea Fleet in the summer of 2022.

The last attack on Russian ship by Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea took place in early June. Then, six drones targeted Russian Priazovie ship which was ensuring security in the area of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines. All Ukrainian drones were destroyed.
