With its forces failing to advance on the front, Ukraine launched a new attack with drones on the Russian capital, Moscow, on June 21.

In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that three Ukrainian drones were suppressed by electronic warfare while approaching facilities in the Moscow region.

“Today we have foiled an attempt of the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack on facilities in the Moscow Region with three aircraft-type drones. All drones were deflected by electronic warfare, they lost control and crashed,” the statement reads.

The ministry added in its statement that there were no casualties or damage as a result of the failed Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow.

Andrey Vorobyov, the governor of Moscow Region, said that two unidentified drones fell near the settlement of Kalinetz, around 30 kilometers southwest of the Russian capital. According to the governor, the drones were approaching military warehouses in the area before being downed.

Citing security sources, the TASS news agency reported that the drones crashed near the home base of Russia’s 2nd Guards Taman Motor Rifle Division.

Video footage that surfaced online after the failed attack showed one of the Ukrainian drones flying at low altitude in the direction of Moscow.

Meanwhile, Kiev forces made new attempts to advance in the Zaporozhye and south Donetsk sectors as a part of their ongoing counteroffensive. Nevertheless, they failed to make any gains and suffered heavy losses.

New videos from the front showed the destruction of several Ukrainian armored vehicles by Russian artillery fire, anti-tank guided missiles and attack helicopters.

Kiev forces have sustained heavy human and material losses since launching their so-called spring counteroffensive on June 4. Yet, their gains remain limited to a few small villages located kilometers away from the Russian military’s first line of defense in Zaporozhye and south Donetsk.

Frustrated with these results and facing more pressure from its NATO backers, the Kiev regime will likely escalate attacks with drones and other means on Russian territory.
