Another Kiev’s Drone Attack On Moscow Failed
On the night of August 9, the Ukrainian military again targeted the Russian capital with UAVs. Two drones were shot down by the Russian air defence forces over twe western and southern outskirts of Moscow.
According to the local reports, the attack took place at about 3 am. The locals claimed that they heard several explosions at night. Immediately after the attack, the local authorities claimed that it was thwarted.
One Ukrainian UAV was shot down in the Odintsovo district in the area of the Minsk highway. In a few minutes, another UAV was intercepted in the town of Domodedovo where large international airport was located. The drones were heading to Moscow but failed to reach any targets.
“At the moment, there is no information about the victims of the falling debris,” the mayor of Moscow wrote.
Later, the destruction of two drones was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Tonight, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack by unmanned aerial vehicles was thwarted over the Moscow region. Two UAVs were destroyed by air defense means. As a result of the suppressed terrorist attack, there are no casualties and destruction.” – the Ministry reported.
The Ukrainian military increased the number of drone strikes on the Russian capital in late July and early August, when the MSM could no longer hide the defeats of the Ukrainian Army on the battlefields. That’s why the Kiev regime tried its best to gain the headlines with attacks on Moscow which have no impact on the situation on the frontlines.
On the morning of August 6, a drone was shot down in the Podolsk district of the Moscow region. On July 30 and August 1, drones attacked the Moscow City business center, including the skyscraper, where the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade are located. A week before, two drones damaged buildings on Komsomolsk Avenue and Likhachev Avenue in Moscow. During this period, several drones were also destroyed in the Moscow region. So far, Ukrainian attacks resulted only in some minor damage to several civilian buildings. No military targets were hit.
At the same time, Ukrainian drones are constantly intercepted in the Russian border regions. On August 7 alone, several drones were shot doen in the Kaluga, Orel, Belgorod regions. The next day the drone crashed near the Ukrainian border in the Kursk region.
The Kremlin has unequivocally concluded that the intensification of Ukrainian terrorist attacks with drones is the result of Kiev’s impotence to achieve any victories during its counteroffensive. The Russian security forces are taking all necessary measures to secure the regions and protect the civilians from Ukrainian desperate strikes.
