Kiev Forces Face Heavy Pressure In Kupyansk, Donetsk (Videos)
As of August 11, the Russian military continues to pressure Kiev forces in Kupyansk and Donetsk, effectively disturbing their operations in all other directions.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces captured two strongholds, five observation posts and defeated an infantry platoon near Olshana.
The group also repelled five counterattacks by Ukraine’s 47, 67 and 14 separate mechanized brigades close to Sinkovka and the Mankovka tracts. Kiev forces lost a platoon of infantry while attempting to recapture their lost positions. Another attack by the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade targeted Russian military positions near Novoselovskoe. The attack was however repelled and an entire infantry platoon was neutralized by the artillery of the Zapad Group of Forces.
The group’s artillery also destroyed a Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer near Petropavlovka and an ammunition depot in the Mankovka tract. Furthermore, two vehicles were destroyed close to Podila with Lancet loitering munitions.
In addition, Ka-52 and Mi-35 attack helicopters as well as Su-25 attack aircraft of the group carried out 11 airstrikes against gatherings of Ukraine’s 25th Separate Airborne Brigade, 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade and territorial defense units close to P. Sinkovka, Kislovka and Novoselovskoe.
Meanwhile in the Donetsk direction, Su-34 fighter bombers of the Russian Yug Group of Forces attacked with guided munitions temporary deployment points of the 54th Mechanized Brigade
close to Serebryanka and others of the 28th Mechanized Brigade near Ivanovsky. Several airstrikes also hit an ammunition depot of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade in Dyleyevka.
The group’s Su-25 attack aircraft also attacked gatherings of Kiev forces close to Lisichansky, Soledaro-Artemovsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions.
Moreover, a missile strike targeted a temporary deployment point of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade near Kramatorsk. An attack by Tornado-S heavy multiple rocket launchers also destroyed a training camp of foreign mercenaries in Nikolaevka.
In addition, the group destroyed a Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer and an American-made M-777 towed howitzer near Minkovka as well as an unidentified radar station in Kramatorsk with Lancet loitering munitions.
The artillery of the Yug Group of Forces also targeted and destroyed four pickups close to Spirne and a military truck near Grigorovka.
Moreover, two D-20 towed howitzers, an American-made M777 towed howitzer, a Bukovel electronic warfare station and two mortars were destroyed near Kleshcheevka by artillery fire. Several other mortars were targeted near Avdeevka, Tonen’ke and Novomikhailovka.
Meanwhile, Russian news sources shared videos showing four recent strikes with FPV suicide drones against Ukrainian troops as well as a two strikes with a Lancet loitering munition and an anti-tank guided missile that targeted a German-made Leopard 2 tank and an American-made M109 self-proppelled howitzer.
Facing failure across the front, Kiev forces continue to launch attacks on Russian territory. Late on August 11, two Ukrainian suicide drone were shot down over the Kursk region.
“Yesterday at 11:00 p.m., our Air Defense Troops shot down two Ukrainian drones on the approach to Kursk,” governor Roman Starovoit wrote on his Telegram channel, without reporting any casualties or material losses.
On August 11 morning, another Ukrainian drone attack targeted the Russian capital of Moscow. The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that a single drone was suppressed by electronic warfare means and crashed in a forest area west of Moscow. According to the ministry, there were no losses.
Overall, Russian pressure in Kupyansk and Donetsk is forcing Kiev forces to decrease their attacks in other directions, including Zaporozhye. Despite sustaining heavy losses, the Kiev regime will likely keep the counteroffensive going in order to appease its backers in the West.
