[국가유산청](국영문 동시배포) 전 세계에 국가유산의 가치 확산할 「2025년 글로벌 국가유산 홍보대사」 출범

  국가유산청(청장 최응천)은 4월 11일 오전 10시 국립고궁박물관(서울 종로구)에서 정부초청 외국인 장학생을 대상으로 선발한 35명의 「2025년 글로벌 국가유산 홍보대사」 발대식을 개최한다.
* 정부초청 외국인 장학생(GKS) : 교육부 국립국제교육원이 운영하는 GKS장학사업의 일환으로 글로벌 인재 양성 및 친한(親韓) 네트워크 구축을 위해 초청된 외국인 장학생

올해로 4기를 맞는 「글로벌 국가유산 홍보대사」는 국내거주 외국인을 대상으로 한국의 국가유산을 체험하고 자신만의 시선으로 소개할 수 있도록 국가유산청이 직접 교육·체험의 기회를 제공하는 프로그램이다. 특히 올해는 세계 각국의 우수한 정부초청 외국인 유학생들을 대상으로 교육부 국립국제교육원과의 협업을 통해 최종 35명의 홍보대사를 선발하였으며, 이들은 국가유산에 대한 문화적 이해를 높일 수 있는 다국어 콘텐츠를 제작·확산할 예정이다.

발대식에서는 홍보대사로서 활동을 본격적으로 시작하기에 앞서 외국인 유학생들이 글로벌 국가유산의 의미와 가치를 이해할 수 있는 특강과 한국의 전통 공예인 나전칠기를 활용해 기념품을 제작해보는 체험이 진행된다. 홍보대사들은 이 과정을 통해 한국유산의 매력을 깊이 있게 경험할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

홍보대사들은 이번 발대식을 시작으로 약 세 달간(4.11~7.6.) 사회관계망서비스(SNS)를 중심으로 '국가유산 탐방 콘텐츠 제작', '자국어를 통한 국가유산 소개', '온라인 역사왜곡·오류에 대한 시정 활동', '국가유산의 올바른 명칭과 가치 소개' 등 활동들을 수행한다. 활동 종료 후에는 우수활동자를 선정하고 표창장도 수여할 계획이다.

국가유산청은 앞으로도 국내외 누구나 쉽게 국가유산을 접하고 누릴 수 있도록 다양한 정책을 추진하는 적극행정을 통하여, 전 세계에 우리 국가유산의 가치를 확산하고 문화교류 활성화에 기여해 나갈 계획이다.

The Korea Heritage Service (KHS, Administrator: Choi Eung-chon), with the support of the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under the Ministry of Education, will hold a kickoff ceremony for the 2025 Global K-Heritage Ambassadors on April 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the National Palace Museum of Korea (Jongno-gu, Seoul), targeting international students invited to Korea through the government scholarship program.

Now in its fourth year, the Global K-Heritage Ambassadors program offers foreign residents in Korea the chance to experience national heritage and introduce it through their own perspectives—a program for which the KHS directly provides educational and hands-on opportunities. In 2025, 35 outstanding international students from countries around the world were selected through collaboration with the NIIED. The program aims to deepen participants' cultural understanding of Korean heritage and promote multilingual content worldwide.
*Global Korea Scholarship (GKS): A scholarship program operated by the NIIED, designed to foster global talent and build Korea-friendly international networks by inviting foreign students to study in Korea.

In preparation for their full engagement as ambassadors, participants will attend a special lecture on the global significance of Korea heritage and take part in a hands-on session crafting commemorative items using najeon chilgi, a traditional Korean craft. These activities are designed to give the ambassadors a more grounded understanding of Korean heritage and inspire their upcoming promotional work.

Starting with this Kickoff event, the 2025 Global K-Heritage Ambassadors will carry out activities for about three months (April 11-July 6), primarily through social media. Their work will include producing heritage exploration content, introducing Korean heritage in their native languages, addressing historical distortions online, and promoting the correct names and values of Korea's national heritage. Outstanding participants will receive official commendations at the end of the program. The content and outcomes of their activities will serve as valuable resources for Korea's global cultural heritage promotion.

The KHS will continue to carry out active administration in line with Article 7 of the Framework Act on National Heritage, striving to ensure that both domestic and international audiences can easily access and enjoy Korean heritage and to share its value with international communities, thereby contributing to wider efforts toward cultural exchange and social cohesion.
