[문화재청](국영문 동시배포) 한국의 명승 사찰과 명상 만나 ‘K불교문화’ 콘텐츠로 탄생

  문화재청 국립문화재연구원(원장 김연수)은 BBS 불교방송(이사장 덕문 스님)과 3월 26일 오전 11시 국립문화재연구원(대전 유성구)에서 「자연유산을 활용한 K불교명상 콘텐츠 구축·보급」을 위한 업무협약을 체결한다.

양 기관은 이번 협약을 계기로 국내 유일 문화·자연유산 종합 연구기관과 불교계 공익 방송재단이라는 각각의 전문성을 살려 자연유산의 가치를 널리 알리고 불교명상을 누구나 즐길 수 있도록 관련 콘텐츠의 제작과 전시·교육·홍보 등 다양한 분야에서 상호 협력할 계획이다.

협약의 주요 내용은 ▲ 국가유산(자연유산)의 가치증진 및 국내외 홍보, ▲ 명승으로 지정된 사찰과 사찰경관림을 활용한 K불교명상 콘텐츠 제작, ▲ 자연유산 명승 등으로 지정된 사찰의 전시·교육·홍보, ▲ 국가유산 체제 홍보를 위한 상호 협력 등이다.

대표적인 전통 불교유산 중 하나인 명상은 인간 내면의 평화와 깨달음을 실현하고, 정신적으로 성장하기 위한 수행 방법의 하나이다. 양 기관은 불교명상 문화의 보급·확산에 기여하고자, 사찰경관림과 같이 우리나라 사찰 주변의 빼어난 자연과 함께 명상에 몰입할 수 있는 영상 콘텐츠를 개발할 예정이다.
* 사찰경관림: 사찰 경내 풍치를 보존하거나 사찰 운영상 필요한 자재 등의 조달을 목적으로 사찰이 소유하고 있는 자연유산

국립문화재연구원은 명승으로 지정된 사찰(26개소)의 자연유산적 가치를 조사하고, BBS 불교방송은 영상촬영과 편집, 방송 프로그램 송출 등을 각각 담당해 K불교명상의 보급에 나서고자 한다.

문화재청 국립문화재연구원은 이번 BBS 불교방송과의 협업을 통해 K불교명상을 국내외에 보급하여, 명승으로 지정된 사찰의 아름다움을 널리 알리고 국민들이 자연으로 행복한 몸과 마음 만들기에 큰 도움이 되길 기대한다.

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (NRICH, Director General Kim Yeonsoo) under the Cultural Heritage Administration will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Buddhist Broadcasting System (BBS, Chairman Ven. Dukmun) on March 26 at 11:00 a.m. at NRICH for the 「Development and Dissemination of K-Buddhist Meditation Content Utilizing Natural Heritage」.

In light of the agreement, the two institutions plan to cooperate in various areas such as production, exhibition, education, and promotion of related content. Leveraging their expertise as the only comprehensive research institute for cultural and natural heritage and Buddhist public interest nonprofit broadcasting foundation in Korea, they aim to broadly promote the value of natural heritage and ensure accessibility to Buddhist meditation for all.

The key provisions of the agreement are as follows: ▲ enhancing the value of national heritage (natural heritage) and promoting it domestically and internationally; ▲ producing K-Buddhist meditation content utilizing temples and temple forests designated as scenic sites; ▲ exhibiting, educating, and promoting temples designated as scenic sites of natural heritage; ▲ and mutual cooperation for promoting the national heritage system.

Meditation, one of the prominent traditional Buddhist heritages, is a practice method aimed at realizing inner peace, enlightenment, and fostering spiritual growth. With the aim of contributing to the dissemination and expansion of Buddhist meditation culture, the two institutions plan to develop video content that allows immersion in meditation alongside the outstanding natural surroundings of Korean temples, such as temple forests*.

* Temple forest: Natural heritage owned by temples for the preservation of the scenery within temple grounds or for the procurement of materials necessary for temple operations

NRICH will survey the natural heritage value of temples designated as scenic sites (26 sites), while BBS will undertake video filming, editing, and broadcasting, aiming to promote the dissemination of K-Buddhist meditation.

NRICH looks forward to collaborating with BBS to promote K-Buddhist meditation domestically and internationally, aiming to widely publicize the beauty of temples designated as scenic sites and hoping to greatly contribute to helping people cultivate happy minds and bodies through nature.
