[국가유산청](국영문 동시배포) 한국전통문화대, 주한 외국인 리더 대상 국가유산 교육 운영

  국가유산청 한국전통문화대학교(총장 강경환)는 10월 5일부터 11월 30일까지 매주 토요일, 주한 외국인 대상 국가유산 교육 과정인 「K-헤리티지 아카데미(K-Heritage Academy)」의 마지막 프로그램인 ‘K-헤리티지 리더십 프로그램’을 운영한다.
* K-헤리티지 아카데미(비학위과정): 주한 외국대사 대상 일일 문화행사 ‘K-헤리티지 데이’ (‘24.5.2.), 국내 교육·연구기관 소속 유학생 대상 계절학기 ‘K-헤리티지 서머 스쿨’ (‘24.7.3.~7.17.), 한국 유산과 교육에 관심 있는 글로벌 문화 리더 대상 ‘K-헤리티지 리더십 프로그램’ (‘24.10.5.∼11.30, 매주 토요일 총 12강 진행)으로 구성

앞서 한국전통문화대학교는 「K-헤리티지 아카데미」의 첫 번째 프로그램으로 지난 5월 주한 외국대사들 대상의 ‘K-헤리티지 데이’와 7월 외국인 유학생들을 대상으로 3주간 진행한 두 번째 프로그램인 여름 계절학기 ‘K-헤리티지 서머 스쿨’을 통해 한국의 국가유산에 대한 인식을 제고한 바 있다.

전 과정이 영어로 진행되는 이번 ‘K-헤리티지 리더십 프로그램’은 한국 문화와 교육에 관심 있는 세계의 문화 리더들을 대상으로 한국의 국가유산을 소개하는 내용으로 꾸려진다. 지난 10월 5일에 국가등록문화유산이기도 한 유네스코회관(서울 명동)에서 진행된 첫 강의에서는 한경구 유네스코한국위원회 사무총장이 문화·인류학자의 시선으로 바라본 한국 유산(강의명: An insider’s gaze on Korean Heritage: From “Barbarian” ways of life to K-Heritage)을 주제로, 외교관, 학자 등 프로그램 정규 참가자들을 비롯해 첫 강의에 특별히 초청된 외국인 유학생, 교환학생 등 다양한 수강생들과 이야기를 나눴다.

오는 10월 12일부터 11월 30일까지는 한국전통문화대학교 교수들을 중심으로 이루어진 강사진들이 부여 한국전통문화대학교 답사(한국 미술사, 섬유, 도자, 디지털 헤리티지 등)를 포함하여 경복궁 흥복전(한국의 건축), 진관사(사찰음식), 북촌 한옥마을(다도), 황학정(국궁) 등 국가유산 현장에서 직접 한국의 유·무형 유산 강의를 진행할 예정이다.

한국전통문화대학교는 올해 첫선을 보인 「K-헤리티지 아카데미」가 한국의 국가유산에 대한 주한 외국인들의 인식을 제고하는 대표적인 국가유산 교육 과정으로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 운영결과 점검(모니터링)과 참가자 의견 수렴 등을 통해 지속적인 프로그램 개발을 이어갈 것이다.

The Korea National University of Heritage(hereafter KNUH), led by President Kang Kyung-hwan, is offering the ‘K-Heritage Leadership Program,’ a non-degree heritage education program for foreign residents in Korea. This program is part of the ‘K-Heritage Academy’ curriculum and will be held every Saturday from October 5 to November 30, 2024.

Previously, KNUH (a national university established by the Korea Heritage Service) has worked to raise awareness of Korean heritage among foreign residents through initiatives such as the one-day ‘K-Heritage Day’ program for foreign ambassadors in May and the three-week ‘K-Heritage Summer School’ for international students over the summer. The latest effort, the ‘K-Heritage Leadership Program,’ targets global leaders in various fields who are interested in Korean heritage and education."
*K-Heritage Academy (non-degree program): 1) ‘K-Heritage Day’, one-day cultural event for ambassadors to Korea;2) ‘K-Heritage Summer School’, seasonal program for international studentsaffiliated with educational and research institutions in Korea ; 3) ‘K-Heritage Leadership Program’ (October5 - November 30, 12 sessions hod every Saturday) for global cultural leaders interested in Korean heritage and education.

The program, conducted in English, kicked off on October 5 at UNESCO Hall, a designated national cultural heritage site, with a lecture by Kyung-koo Han, Secretary-General of the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, titled 'An Insider’s Gaze on Korean Heritage: From “Barbarian” Ways of Life to K-Heritage.' In addition to diplomats, scholars, and CEOs, international students and exchange students also attended.

Starting October 12, the program will feature lectures by professors from KNUH at various Korean heritage sites such as Gyeongbokgung Palace's Heungbokjeon Hall. Participants will have the opportunity to explore Korean heritage through immersive experiences, including programs at KNUH’s main campus in Buyeo(which is representative field trip of the K-Heritage Academy), where they will engage in Korean art history, traditional textiles, ceramics, and digital heritage. Other hands-on activities include temple cuisine at Jinkwansa Temple, Korean tea culture in BukchonHanok Village, and traditional archery at Hwanghakjeong, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of tangible and intangible heritage in Korea (inquiries: knuchihec@gmail.com).

This year marks the first time that all three courses of the ‘K-Heritage Academy’ have been offered. Through monitoring and feedback from this pilot run, KNUH aims to offer a key Korean heritage education program for foreign residents in Korea, enhancing their understanding of Korean heritage and fostering international engagement with K-Heritage.
